Benjamin Franklin Facts, UGH!

Benjamin Franklin Facts

Benjamin Franklin facts do not have to be boring. Of course you could focus most of your attention on Benjamin Franklin inventions or his siblings. Or you could engage your students in learning all about Benjamin Franklin facts in a way that will have them begging for more.

Benjamin Franklin Biography

Benjamin Franklin Facts

Benjamin was born in 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up he had 16 brothers and sisters. At the age of ten, he had to leave school to help his dad in his candle making shop. Eventually, he would leave that shop and begin working as an apprentice for a printing shop. After being an apprentice he would then start his own printing shop and publish his own journals.

Benjamin Franklin Facts

Later in life he would find electricity by flying a kite with a key attached during a thunderstorm. He would also become one of the famous signatures on the Declaration of Independence. In 1790, Benjamin Franklin would pass away at the age of 84.

His Great Experiments

Some people may describe him as a genius. Probably more people thought he was crazy. Looking back at all the great contributors to fantastic inventions or experiments, they all had what seemed like “crazy” ideas.

I mean you can’t get much crazier than flying a kite in a thunderstorm with a metal key attached to create electricity. However, if he never tried we would probably still be using candles to light our way.

A fantastic way to celebrate him in the classroom is to complete some experiments that relate to him. You could do an experiment with electricity. It doesn’t have to involve batteries and lights, nothing fancy. It could just be static electricity where you separate pepper from salt.

You could also create a smaller version of a glass armonica. The kids would love experimenting with changing the pitch by adding or subtracting water.

Benjamin Franklin Timeline

Every time an important historical figure or event is introduced, it is always beneficial to have some sort of timeline to accompany it.

Benjamin Franklin Facts

Here are some important dates you may want to include on a timeline about Benjamin Franklin.

  • 1706 – He was born in Boston, Massachusetts
  • 1716 – Left school to help his father
  • 1752 – Finds electricity through his kite experiment
  • 1776 – Signed the Declaration of Independence

T.G.I.F. We all need to take time to breathe and T.G.I.F.

We all need to take time to breathe and regroup.

What are you doing this weekend to fill your cup?
✨Reading is dreaming with your eyes open.✨ I ✨Reading is dreaming with your eyes open.✨

I love curling up on the couch with a cup of hot tea and a good book.

My favorite books have quickly become:
-my daily devotional books
-romance novels especially those by Nicolas Sparks (don’t roll your eyes 😂)
-the gifts of imperfect parenting

As you can tell, Aria also has a love of reading.

Aria’s top picks are:
-That’s Not Santa
-How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You
-Little Blue Truck

What books should we check out next? Leave your recommendations below

One thing I have learned over these past few years is to cherish every moment. From the big milestones to the itty bitty ones that are over in the blink of an eye.

Today, I am grateful for those big blue eyes that look at me every morning and see the best dang mother on the planet.

To her: I can do no wrong. I am perfect. I am beautiful. I am strong. I am so brave and she wants to be exactly like me.

Today friends, I encourage you to look at yourself the way your child views you.

And in case no one has told you today, you are absolutely perfect!
🎉Trivia Tuesday🎉 If parenting came with a m 🎉Trivia Tuesday🎉

If parenting came with a manual, what would it say?

For me:
1. Don’t take everything too seriously or think people are always judging you and your parenting. You know what’s best for your child.
2. No one is going to take care of or protect your child like you will.
3. It’s okay to bend the rules every now and then.
4. Always say yes to another bedtime story because babies don’t keep. ❤️

What is one thing you wish you had more of when it What is one thing you wish you had more of when it comes to raising children?

Time?
Patience?
Creativity?

TIME:
As parents we always joke that the days are long but the years are short. However we also find ourselves saying that we never had enough time.

Not enough time to spend with our kids. Not enough time to take them places. Not enough time to play with them.

PATIENCE:
Going old school, patience is a virtue. But, what does that really mean.

I think we all have the same amount of patience but some of us have shorter fuses. So, when your kid dumps cereal on the floor for the 3rd time, you might get a little uptight.

CREATIVITY:
“I’m just not a Pinterest mom.”

Since when did we start using Pinterest as a judge to tell us whether something is quality or not. I cringe whenever I hear someone say that. It’s almost like setting yourself up for failure because you hold yourself to unrealistic expectations. Real life isn’t found on the boards of Pinterest.

What if there was a way I could help you with all of those areas? Sounds too good to be true, right?!?

WRONG.

All the activities you see above are all ready to go for your kiddos. All you have to do is pick which one you want to do, read the directions, and have fun. The hard work and prep is done! I take the guess work out of planning activities for your kids.

Now there are no more reasons why you don’t have enough time, patience, or creativity. 😊

TOMORROW is the last day and then you will have to wait until MAY! 😧
Bedtime stories are so much more than just bedtime Bedtime stories are so much more than just bedtime stories. What are your kiddos favorite bedtime stories?
